Unlike other music schools, we don't require semester minimums for lessons. If you're ready to start, you have nothing to lose - our students truly want to be here and we won't commit you to a long contract.
Need to miss a lesson? No problem. Just sign up for one of our free group makeup lessons. Yes, free!
We're the only school in Waterdown that gives students awesome wristbands and trophies as rewards for completing challenges. We love to see the smiles on our students' faces when they're rewarded for practicing!
We're pleased to provide our students with two optional recitals every year - and the best part is that they're completely free! You'll never have to pay any performance fees or buy any tickets.
Our students have achieved at the highest levels, from earning 1st Class Honours from the Royal Conservatory of Music to placing first in music festivals to earning admission to schools such as the world-renowned Berklee College of Music.
Our students' well-being is our top priority; that's why our safety plan includes security cameras in each classroom, windows in classroom doors, background checks for teachers and an open-door policy that allows parents to be present in the classroom whenever they like.
Waterdown Music Academy ups the "fun factor" by holding contests and Spirit Weeks. Our students love showing off their school spirit!
Our warm and friendly teachers have post-secondary and/or Royal Conservatory of Music accreditation as well as professional performance and teaching experience.
Snowed in? Feeling under-the-weather? No problem - you'll always have the option to have your lesson via Zoom instead!

Our lessons are month-to-month - there are no long-term contracts or semester minimums, so you can take lessons for as long as you want! If you need to stop, just let us know by the 15th of your last month.
No problem! Just sign up for one of our FREE group makeup lessons.
We start private lessons at age 5.
Yes! We have many adult students learning all instruments that we offer at our school.
Fun fact: a study shows that while 20% of children learn to play music, 70% of adults WISH they had learned… check this off of your bucket list!
It's important to own or rent an instrument of your own so that you can practice between lessons… but that doesn't mean that you have to buy an expensive instrument to get started!
Piano
Many of our students start lessons on a 61-key portable keyboard. We have these available for rent for $20/month. They are also easily purchased from any music store, and often even Costco or Best Buy.
Guitar
We'd be happy to help make purchase recommendations if you're looking to buy your first guitar. And if you're not ready to purchase, we have 3/4-scale acoustic guitars (perfect for kids) available to rent for $20/month.
Ukulele
Beginner ukuleles are typically in the $60-100 range and easy to find - any local musical instrument retailer or Amazon should have them available.
Drums
Electronic drum kits are a popular choice for beginners - we can help you out with making a rental or purchase decision when you're getting started with lessons. Another popular and inexpensive option for beginners is to purchase a "practice pad".
Violin
We'd be happy to help make recommendations if you're looking to rent or purchase your first violin.
Flute
We'd be happy to help make recommendations if you're looking to rent or purchase your first flute.
