  • Is there a discount for enrolling two or more of my children for lessons?

    Yes! When you enrol two or more children from the same household for lessons, you'll receive all lesson books for FREE! Also, the registration fee will apply only to the first child.

  • How long are we committed to lessons for? What if we want to stop?

    Our academy doesn't make you sign any long-term contract. Our students are here because they love their lessons, not because they're locked in. Our lessons are month-to-month… take lessons for as long as you want!

  • What happens if we need to miss a lesson?

    No problem! Just sign up for one of our FREE group lessons.

  • What age can kids start at?

    We start private lessons at age 5.

  • Do you teach adults as well?

    Yes! We have many adult students learning all instruments that we offer at our school.

    Fun fact: a study shows that while 20% of children learn to play music, 70% of adults WISH they had learned… check this off of your bucket list!

  • Do we need to have an instrument at home?

    It's important to own or rent an instrument of your own so that you can practice between lessons… but that doesn't mean that you have to buy an expensive instrument to get started!

    Piano
    Many of our students start lessons on a 61-key portable keyboard. We have these available for rent for $20/month. They are also easily purchased from any music store, and often even Costco or Best Buy.

    Guitar
    While we don't sell instruments ourselves, we'd be happy to help make purchase recommendations if you're looking to buy your first guitar. And if you're not ready to purchase, we have 3/4-scale acoustic guitars (perfect for kids) available to rent for $20/month.

    Ukulele
    Ukuleles are fairly inexpensive and easy to find - any local musical instrument retailer or Amazon should have them available.

    Drums
    Electronic drum kits are a popular choice for beginners - we can help you out with making a rental or purchase decision when you're getting started with lessons. Another popular and inexpensive option for beginners is to purchase a "practice pad".

Ready to Start?
No long contracts and no big upfront payments make it easy to get started.

Signing up is simple. Since we only offer lessons on a month-to-month basis there are no semester minimums, no complicated contracts and no annual material or performance fees. Just give us a call at 905-690-8010, text us at 519-489-0626 or write to 7839271 to get started.

Weekly lessons are a half-hour each and are available Monday through Saturday. Enrolment is first-come, first-served. Contact us today to arrange your first lesson!

Lessons are $34 / half-hour

A one-time registration fee of $25 applies (due at time of registration).

Established in 2001, Waterdown Music Academy is Waterdown's longest-running music school. Winner of multiple Flamborough Review Reader's Choice Awards, our school has grown based on its great reputation and word-of-mouth in the community. Prior to June 2019, Waterdown Music Academy was known as Keynote Music Studio.
